How to increase vapor temperature in e-cigs (and why you should be careful not to overdo it!)
Does the vapor from your e-cigarette not completely satisfy you because it feels too cold?
You are not the only one faced with this problem: many vapers like a warm and full-bodied vapor, especially those who are still used to traditional cigarettes and want to faithfully reproduce the smoke of cigarettes.
In this article I will explain to you what can be the reason for the low temperature of the vapor of your e-cig and how you can intervene to make it hotter.
Why the vapor from your e-cig is too cold and how to increase the temperature
If the vapor emitted by your e-cigarette is too cold, you have probably set the power too low.
Do you know the famous ‘watts’ that are talked about so much in the world of vapers?
This physical quantity indicates, precisely, the power and in vaping devices it determines the temperature that the resistance reaches when it is heated and the quantity of vapor produced by the atomizer.
In most electronic cigarettes, the watts can be set manually using two buttons included in the box mod which allow you to respectively increase and decrease the amount of energy supplied by the battery. Consequently, to obtain a hotter vapor, all you have to do is increase the power: in this way the resistance will reach higher temperatures and, consequently, the vapor emitted by your e-cig will be hotter.
Easy, right?
However, I advise you to pay attention to the watt value you decide to set: if you overdo it, you could have nasty surprises!

Be careful not to overdo the watts!
You need to know that each resistor is designed to work optimally when used within a certain watt range.
Have you ever tried to take a close look at your coils? If you have done so, you will have noticed that two numbers separated by a dash are engraved on their surface, for example 40 – 60. This means that the resistance must be used by setting a minimum of 40 and a maximum of 60 watts.
If you dispense less power than recommended, your e-cigarette will produce little vapor and its temperature will be colder than normal. Conversely, if you set too high a number of watts, you risk exceeding the tolerance threshold of the coil and the latter could burn out and become unusable.
For this reason, if you want to increase the temperature of the steam emitted by your e-cig, I recommend that you gradually increase the power without exaggerating, taking short puffs and paying attention to the taste you feel: if you perceive a burnt taste, it means that you exaggerated and that, if you want to avoid taking a good ‘hit’, you must immediately reduce the watts!
Why, sometimes, cold steam is a plus
Before closing, I would like to ask you a question: are you sure that the e-liquids you usually use are suitable for high wattages?
Let me explain: as you probably know, e-liquids are classified into three different groups according to their aroma: tobacco, creamy and fruity e-liquids. Based on this distinction, it is worth keeping in mind that each of these types tastes best when vaped at a certain temperature.
In particular, the aromatic notes of creamy e-liquid flavours are usually perceived better when the steam is hot and full-bodied. Conversely, fruity e-liquid flavors are tastier at low temperatures, especially when they also contain mint and other similar flavors that give a ‘fresh’ sensation.
For tobacco users, however, the matter is a little more complicated. It is not possible to give general indications on the ideal temperature at which to vape them. To understand what is the ideal potency for tobacco users, it is necessary to experiment until you find the right one.
However, what I want to tell you is this: in some cases, increasing the potency of your e-cigarette is not necessarily the best decision. Of course, a hot vapor reproduces the smoke of a traditional cigarette more faithfully and may seem more natural to you: but if you are used to using liquids for electronic cigarettes designed to be vaped at low temperatures (such as fruity ones), excessive power could ruin their taste and be deleterious.
Also keep this detail in mind when setting the watts of your e-cig.

In conclusion
In this article I explained to you why you may perceive the vapor of your e-cig as too cold, how to make it hotter and why, in certain situations, it can be convenient to vape at low temperatures, especially if you consume fruity e-liquids.
